Vienna can easily be reached by plane, train or car, as it is located at the crossroads of Europe. It is served by one international airport (Vienna Airport at Schwechat) and a very convenient railway system.
If you want to fly to Vienna, you can look for offers from different airlines. The national airline, Austrian Airlines, currently operates flights from main European cities to Vienna. To get from the Vienna Airport at Schwechat, located outside the city limits, to the city center, you can choose from the City Airport Train, an Airport Express bus, the Schnellbahn (City Train), the Vienna Airport Service, or a taxi.
For participants travelling within Austria to Vienna by train on the occasion of the CESIO 2011 Congress, there are Vienna packages available at travel agencies. In many trains heading to Vienna, you can buy the Vienna Card from the conductor on the train. It enables you to travel 72 hours on the underground, streetcars and bus lines.

Austria is located in a temperate climatic zone with a Central European climate influenced by the Atlantic climate. The four seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter) each have typical temperature and climatic characters. In June, proper summer starts in Vienna. The average daily maximum temperature reaches an impressive 22 degrees Celsius and the minimum does not go below 14 degrees.

Electricity in Austria is 230 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second. If you travel to Austria with a device that does not accept 230 Volts at 50 Hertz, you will need a voltage converter.
